Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive behavioural therapy is the treatment of choice as recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (N.I.C.E). In a typical CBT session we will explore the current situation you are experiencing, and the negative thoughts that are fuelling this situation, and explore strategies to change the negative thoughts into positive ways of being.
Integrated Psychotherapy and Counselling
Many clients feel that one type of theory isn’t helpful for them, therefore I am trained integratively to make decisions based on client need. As a result of this, I am able to draw from other theories, and also use my clinical judgment when providing interventions for clients. Integrative psychotherapy and counselling involves working in different ways to help you move forward and find strategies and ways to function better in the here and now.
Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing is a form of therapy used in trauma work. It can be used with most people, and is a specialist treatment that will need an assessment and discussion before EMDR commences. For more information please contact me directly.
Personal and Performance Coaching
Personal and performance coaching can significantly improve somebody’s sense of achievement, and help them move forward if they are not performing in a way that is either required of them by others, or they require of themselves. Personal and performance coaching is often used by people in business, sports people, and often used if somebody is psychologically sabotaging some form of success or achievement in their life.
Critical Incident Debriefing
Critical incident debriefing can be done on site subject to a daily rate, plus expenses, and involves providing psychological first aid in the event of a critical incident that might occur. For more information please ring me on 07968 069616.
Outdoor therapy is a form of therapy that can be offered to those people who find sitting in a room talking a daunting prospect, or something that they would not engage with. All of the therapies that I offer, including cognitive behavioural therapy, integrative psychotherapy, and transactional analysis type interventions, can all be used in an outdoor therapy way to help a person become unstuck.
Confidence Building Courses
Many people might need a few sessions of confidence building to find out why they aren’t confident, and what types of things are holding them back. I generally run confidence building courses one to one or in small groups. Assertion and Speaking Out
Speaking out and being assertive is a skill. Some people feel they would never be able to be assertive, but once taught the skills and strategies to be assertive, a person can become more confident and be heard as well as understood by others. Assertion courses can be done in a six session format on a one to one basis, or I can provide a bespoke course to small groups or organisations.
